This tiny, elegantly-engineered hammer debounce device (HDD) simply fits on to the Hammer Pin (QB78 Part 0900) of your QB78 family air rifle. Tests show that the consumption of CO2 per shot is significantly reduced without reducing the muzzle velocity. In tests, the total muzzle energy increase gained by use of the HDD is between 40 and 50%, compared to a standard factory gun. So more full-power shots are extracted from each pair of Powerlets or bulk fill.
Other benefits include lower noise level on shooting - as less gas is used per shot - and a reduction in the cooling effect of shooting, thus providing more consistent muzzle velocity shot-to-shot.
Accuracy is also improved as the arrest of hammer bounce reduces vibration in the gun, in addition to benefits of the more consistent muzzle velocity when shooting rapidly.

The specially designed, CNC-manufactured, stainless steel HDD has an anodized coating to retain lubricant. This enables the Hammer Debounce Device to be simply installed with no permanent or irreversible changes. And there is no need for filing, machining or other modification to your air rifle. Replacement barrel O rings and a breech seal are included as they will be needed when re-assembling your air rifle. Just replacing the factory breech seal will give a significant muzzle velocity increase to a QB78 family air rifle in factory condition.

The Archer Airguns HDD is CNC wire-ED machined from
#303 chrome-nickel stainless steel, tensile strength 90,000psi (50% stronger than ordinary carbon steel).
Installation involves slipping the HDD around the Hammer Pin, where it
rides with the pin in the pin's slot.
During the forward stroke of the hammer, the pin rides along freely.
Later, when the hammer rebounds from the valve stem, the HDD stops while
the pin slides backward in the HDD, forcing the HDD to expand, engage
with the sides of the slot, and arrest the hammer's bounce.
During the cocking stroke, pressure of the bolt on the front of the HDD
releases it and allows free movement of the hammer with no interference
from the HDD.
