5 of 5 XP Bolt Kit October 19, 2020
Reviewer: Jimmy D from Califiornia
Just put  the new bolt kit in my QB78 in 177 caliber, it did help improve the performance. Not hard to install , but  I have done some other Mods. to this gun.  I mostly use this one for my backyard shooting, shooting PEST in my yard (when I hunt I prefer my 22 caliber) It did increase the crack a little but FPS and FPE . I Like IT.  Many Thanks to Mr.  Archer when I need parts his shop is the one I go to.

I installed this on a .177 rifle. It increased fps about 35fps. Had I known this I wouldn't have bothered.

5 of 5 Wow! Major improvement! January 26, 2018

I'm a big tuner of the crosman 22xx series/Disco model air rifles. I'm trying my hand at the QB series now.
I immediately tore the rifle down and cleaned, deburred, polished, etc. During this process, I ported the valve and also ported the stock bolt. This helped the gun tremendously, but it still wasn't as hard hitting as my 2260 with basically the same mods.
After I installed the XP kit and fired it at a piece of wood I tested it prior on, it punched right through! Even with all the other mods, before the XP bolt, it would crack the back of the wood bit not penetrate. It barely stuck in the wood in out of the box condition.
It still gets decent shot count from 2 carts, even with the valve mods. I feel confident this rifle will now take squirrels out to 40 yards, humanely, with out issue.
I highly recommend this product if you're wanting better power out of this rifle.

5 of 5 Update March 22, 2012
Reviewer: Bruce Rusnak from San Marcos, CA United States
Just received the "XP" kit today and was very easy to install (I purchased Mr. Archers QB78 manual a while ago and was well worth the investment).  The thing I really like is that Mr. Archer includes not just one set of seals and O-Rings but two so if you happen to damage one you do not have to sweat it.  Hope to try it this weekend...Well, I was able to do some testing using a chronometer and got between 755 to 760 fps which was about a hundred fps increase (it was a very hot day (about 90 degrees F).  I do not mind the decrease in the number of shots but the one thing I do not like is that if you do not put in the pellet correctly in will fall in the hole where the hammer assembly is (that's when things get nasty).  I was lucky the first time and I managed to get the pellet out but a friend was using it and had to take apart the gun.  It was worth the money but do make sure you put in the pellet correctly....

I just finished installing the XP tune up kit on my QB 78 Deluxe.  Between the instructions and the videos, it was a snap. I couldn't wait for the weather to get warmer, so I went ahead and tested it at 60F.  Wow, what an improvement!  I was burying Gamo 7.5 grain Hunters into half inch plywood. Can't wait to try this with Crow Magnums in warmer weather.  This is a great bargain as far as I'm concerned.
